Stitching on the Rio Grande

This blog is dedicated to the use of stitchers along the eastern Rio Grande Valley. We invite you to discuss your projects, ask questions, compare progress, announce new opportunities, and post your photos. Above all this should be a way to communicate and have fun.

Dimensions of Hardanger Piece

The dimensions depend on the size fabric you intend to use. This pattern recommends that you use even-weave fabric, anything from 22 to 32 threads per inch. I did my piece on 25-count fabric, and it came out about 7 1/2 by 5 1/2 inches. They recommend this piece as a bookmark, but I think it would be nice framed, or just cut around it and stiffen it. We will talk about that in class too. The actual thread count of the piece is 184 threads tall by 140 threads wide. Carol
